Saul Carliner is a Professor and Interim Chair of the Department of Education at Concordia University in Montreal, and Research Director for Lakewood Media (publishers of Training Magazine) and has consulted with organizations like Alltel Wireless, Boston Scientific, Bronx Zoo, Canada School of Public Service, PwC, ST Microelectronics, and Turkish Management Centre. He is the author of several best-selling and award-winning books on e-learning, including An Overview of Online Learning, Training Design Basics, Informal Learning Basics, e-Learning Handbook (with Patti Shank), and Advanced Web-Based Training (with Margaret Driscoll). He chairs the Certification Steering Committee for the Institute for Performance and Learning and is a Fellow of that organization and the Society for Technical Communication.
